Lee Barron, at 13, worked at Dia-Chrome; a diamond-tool company his grandfather and father began in the early 1950’s. They had invented the first Nickel Plated Diamond Tool for abrasive material cutting, forming and polishing. During his Junior year at La Canada High School, Lee attended Pasadena City College, beginning his steps for degrees in Business and Mechanical Engineering. Shortly after graduation from High School, Lee joined the US Navy where he spent 7 years, working on such aircraft as the S-3A, F14, F/A-18, A-6, EA-6B and C-130. After the Navy, Lee was hired by Rockwell Intl. working as an Egress and Structural Mechanic on the B-1 program in Palmdale. Lee married Kathleen Sherman and raised three children, Sam, Lenore and Rebecca. At the end of the B-1 program, Lee began a 21 year stint in the automotive industry as a Finance Manager/Director for Rally Automotive Group and Antelope Valley Ford. In late 2003, he became more involved with his  community, joining various organizations, such as Rotary Club and Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce. Today, Lee is the longest seated President of 4 years in the Quartz Hill Chamber and has spent the last 3 years building a new and stronger relationship with the Quartz Hill Town Council. Lee also sits as an active board member to JMAC and is beginning his second year with CIV-MIL.

In August of 2008, Lee purchased Rancho Raviri Almond Gifts located in Quartz Hill. By December 4th, he had the doors open in time for late Christmas Gifts and by December 23rd, Rancho Raviri had filled nearly 500 orders. Lee states that he is having the time of his life meeting and spending time with the 58 years of customers Rancho Raviri has earned.   He has learned to make real Dark Chocolate and create new flavors of Gourmet Treats for all to enjoy.

Harry Brodock ~ Secretary

Harry Brodock - Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce SecretaryBorn in Kansas, graduated from Emporia University with BS in Chemistry and Secondary Education, University of Southern California with a Masters degree in Systems Management, and post-graduate work in robotics and teleoperations.  Enlisted  in the Air Force, made SSgt, then Officer Training and Pilot Training followed by 20+ years of service. Flew twenty different aircraft worldwide, and 611 combat missions in VietNam. Retired as a Major in 1986.

Married, wife Carol, and two adult children.

Had a small business selling, building, repairing and teaching personal computers.
Worked for Boeing on Air Force One and the B-1, followed by Lockheed Space doing Space Shuttle Recovery at Edwards AFB.  Was Membership Director for Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, and a Computer Vocational Instructor at California State Prison, Lancaster.  Member of the development team for construction of the Quartz Hill Town Center, now the Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce.  Since 2002, has been acting office manager for the Chamber and Secretary for the Board of Directors. Presently is a District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration SCORE Organization for Los Angeles/Southern California.

Debbie Schmidt ~ Marketing & Web Director

Debbie Schmidt - Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Website DirectorDebbie owns a web design and maintenance business, as well as the related marketing tools. Debbie has lived in the Antelope Valley for over 15 years. A transplant from "down below," she worked at a prestigious law firm in downtown Los Angeles for almost 25 years. Desiring a small town atmosphere, she moved her family to the Antelope Valley where her boys finished school. One of her boys was scouted and picked up by the Oakland A's, another son joined the Army Reserve and went to Iraq and still serves as an officer, another son has stayed local and works in the AV. Her daughter followed in her footsteps and is currently working at a law firm in Los Angeles.

Debbie's experience runs from organization, hardware/software testing, database admin, court & other forms expert (PDF, Word, OmniForm), hardware/software national & international deployment, training, facilitator, IT to client liaison, personnel administrator/director, development director, web design, web coding, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery languages, PC Repair, setting up seminars/conferences, and a whole lot of volunteer work. She was just elected to a seat on the Quartz Hill Town Council for 2010-2012 and plans to join forces with other civic groups to promote the Quartz Hill area.

Debbie's volunteer work currently involves the following organizations: Antelope Valley Veterans' Community Action Coalition, dsh Solutions Service Foundation, Zonta Club of Antelope Valley, Zonta International, Zonta District 9, Antelope Valley Veterans Day Parade, Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce, Opportunity Edwards, Friends of Lancaster Cemetery, Mental Health America, The Catalyst Foundation/Creating A Healing Society, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Quartz Hill Town Council Standards and ByLaws Committee.

Debbie loves photography, manipulating her photos into artwork, her family, reading trashy supernatural books, expressing herself creatively, her puppies, and paying it forward.
